Feds Demand Harvard Disclose Foreign Donations Amid Transparency Concerns: The feds taking aim at Harvard again demanding information about foreign donations accusing the university of not being fully transparent.

The Trump administration’s Department of Education issued a sweeping records request to Harvard accusing the university of failing to fully disclose foreign gifts and contracts as required by federal law.A statement from

Education Secretary Linda McMahon said: “This records request is the Trump administration’s first step to ensure Harvard is not being manipulated by or doing the bidding of foreign entities which include actors who are hostile to the interest of the United States of American students.”

The department is giving Harvard 30 days to turn over records dating back to 2016 including the names of foreign donors, researchers and even students whose credentials were revoked.

In response, a Harvard spokesperson tells Fox News the university has turned over records to the government for decades saying: “As is required, Harvard’s reports include information on gifts and contracts from foreign sources exceeding $250,000 annually. This includes contracts to provide executive education, other training and academic publications.”

The Trump administration argues federal funding is contingent upon following the Civil Rights Act, a standard it claims Harvard has not met.

The Department of Education points to a 2020 report from the Trump administration which found universities failed to disclose more than $6.5 billion in foreign gifts and contracts, calling campuses “technological treasure troves vulnerable to foreign influence.”
