India Pakistan Conflict Escalates: Airstrikes, Downed Jets, and Civilian Casualties Reported: The military conflict between India and Pakistan has reached a dangerous level. India carried out airstrikes on nine targets inside Pakistani territory, claiming they were terrorist infrastructures. Pakistan responded by shooting down two Indian fighter jets and reported civilian casualties, including a child, in the attacks.

Tensions escalated following a deadly militant attack last month in Indian-administered Kashmir that killed 26 people. India blamed Pakistan-based militants for the attack, while Pakistan denied involvement and condemned India’s retaliatory strikes as an “unprovoked act of war.”

The international community, including U.S. President Trump, has called for immediate de-escalation, expressing concern over potential further clashes between the nuclear-armed neighbors. The long-standing dispute over Kashmir remains at the heart of the conflict, raising fears of a larger confrontation.
